Wednesday, Nov. 9th

The first Performance Journals (on I.iii.) were returned and discussed.  We then read and discussed II.iii.522 to III.i..  We will be writing our second Performance Journal on III.i., so we started by reading and discussing the scene to figure out the characterization, motivations, advances to the plot, the dynamics of the relationships, and the themes presented in the scene.  Having fixed an impression in our own minds (remember what we discussed with the prologue to Henry V), we watched Kenneth Branagh’s version of the III.i..  If you were absent, read the scene and try to watch the Branagh version online or go to the public library for a copy. I will be showing you a second interpretation of the scene before I get you to write about it.
