Thursday, Dec. 1st

I collected your proposals for the FAMOUS LINES ASSIGNMENT today, and you will have all of next class, Monday, Dec. 5th, to work on it.  It is due on Dec. 13th.

We finished off the ELIZABETHAN PERIOD with Christopher Marlowe’s “The Passionate Shepherd to His Love,”(162) and Sir Walter Raleigh’s “The Nymph’s Reply”(162).  Both of these are on your READINGS LIST.  We also looked at John Donne’s “The Bait”.

We then did a brief introduction to the JACOBEAN and PURITAN AGES.  We shall carry on with the texts in these two periods on Wednesday, Dec. 7th.
